A traffic accident shut down Pacific Coast Highway in both directions from Temescal Canyon Road to Chautauqua Boulevard on Tuesday, September 10, after six vehicles were involved in a collision just before 8 a.m., according to local officials.
Paramedics responded to a call of a traffic accident with a victim that was ejected from the vehicle, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. At least two people were transported to local hospitals, LAFD said.
Early reports from the California Department of Transportation described a fatality on scene but was later refuted by the Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division.
“There is no fatality,” said Lieutenant Edwards with the LAPD. “I don’t know how that rumor got started, but there is no fatality.”
Edwards said there is no suspicion of a crime at this time, including driving under the influence.
All lanes on PCH were reopened by 1 p.m.
