The goal for the Palisades High boys golf team this spring is simple: defend its City Section championship.
“We should be pretty good, but not as strong as last year,” said Coach Dave Suarez, whose squad teed it up against Windward on Tuesday at Rancho Park and is scheduled to face Brentwood today at Encino. The Dolphins open league next Friday against Taft at Woodley. After league matches with Chatsworth at Rancho on March 15 and El Camino Real on March 22 at Balboa, they play Notre Dame at Mountaingate before returning to league action March 30 against Granada Hills at Knollwood. Also scheduled is Harvard-Westlake on April 11 at Harding.
The roster consists of freshmen Leonard Welch, Grant Bigalow, Cole Richter and Caleb Kim, sophomores Luke Schultz, Jacob Leatherman, Michael Conner and Mason Geller, juniors Levi Salzman, Gavin Sternberg, Logan Musser and Liam Hussain and seniors Zane Govindraj, Alec Lam, Gavin Loughran, Kourey Patterson and Harrison Rautbort.
