The accolades keep piling up for Palisades High tennis coach Bud Kling who was nominated for California Coach of the Year honors after piloting the Dolphins to their 11th straight City Section boys title and 27th since he took over the program in 1979.
Kling, who previously won Coach of the Year in 1997, was inducted into the City Section Hall of Fame in 2017 and is already the winningest coach in any sport in section history.
In September, he broke the state record for career victories, passing Robbin Adair of Coronado. Kling has over 1,260 combined wins in boys and girls and his winning percentage is over 90 percent. Later this month he will try to win his 20th City girls crown.
