Bonin
Our community hasn’t had a working library for over 18 months. And two of the biggest events of the year — the July 4th 5K and the Turkey Trot — were cancelled due to the City’s failure to approve permits in time. It’s almost as though we don’t have an elected representative on City Council. And the truth is, we don’t. Regardless of how you feel about Bonin’s position on homelessness, it’s hard to argue that the Palisades doesn’t deserve a more responsive Councilmember.
Carts
Surprisingly in our beautiful town we have a CONSTANT EYESORE along the south side of Sunset, on the corner of Muskingum and often along the sidewalk on down to Bienveneda: LARGE MARKET CARTS which quickly get filled with TRASH of all sorts! GELSONS?? RALPHS?? Please pick up your carts at least weekly!
Station 23
I saw Qué Padre will be supporting Station 69 during Preparedness Month but what about Palisades LAFD Station 23?
Editor’s note: Though the original press release said “proceeds directly benefiting LAFD Station 69,” a follow up with the contact revealed: “The proceeds go to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, which supports all stations and the LAFD … we aren’t specifically raising for one station over another station, but for the foundation as a whole.”
Rusty
I wish Rusty success on his next chapter. The Palisades will miss him.
Theatre Palisades
It’s the last weekend to catch a performance of Theatre Palisades’ “Wait Until Dark”! Please make it out if you can and support live theatre in the Palisades!
‘Sticking Together’
Such a great article about the three Pali High grads who had their first collegiate victory together at SMC.
Turkey Trot
I was sad to read of the cancellation of this year’s Turkey Trot. I appreciate the founders diligence to making it a safe event and look forward to its triumphant return in 2022.
Pixel
I loved that Pixel the cockatiel made it home safely after what sounds like a harrowing adventure through town. Kudos to those boys for bringing their pet back home and to LAFD for helping to make it happen.
