In addition to publishing the newspaper each Thursday of the year, the Post also assembles quarterly editions of 90272 Magazine—which highlights dozens of
lifestyle stories in each edition.
Spring
The spring edition of 90272 Magazine (pictured above) featured a look at local summer camps in Pacific Palisades, which range from technology to surfing. Also in the magazine were travel tales submitted by members of the community, with stories from readers who traveled around the world, from the top of Mount Kilimanjaro to Antarctica and everywhere in between. Are you taking a trip soon or have you taken a life-changing trip you want to write about? Consider submitting a tale of your own to be featured in the 2020 spring edition. Submissions of up to 600 words plus four high-res photos can be sent to mypost@palipost.com.
Summer
Summer in Pacific Palisades means a Fourth of July celebration of epic proportions. In the 2019 Guide to the Fourth of July summer edition, 90272 Magazine covered everything about the July 4th festivities, from the start of the day at the Palisades Will Rogers 5 & 10K Run ’til the night ended at the Pacific Palisades Fireworks Spectacular, presented by Pyro Spectaculars. Reeve Chudd, who penned the 2019 Fourth of July Parade theme “May the 4th Be With You,” shared the inspiration behind his entry: “I threw the submission in there as a joke—I have no idea why the committee thought it was good. I just thought it was a goof!”
Fall
Celebrating all things Back to School, the fall edition of 90272 Magazine also took a look with back to wellness, with Lisa Taitelman, the Palisadian founder of Finding Your Trail, sharing some of the benefits of taking a hike: “It gives you a sense of strength in yourself that you didn’t know you had. You feel grounded and connected.” Sheila Morovati expanded her nonprofit, Crayon Collection, to cover Habits of Waste, which encourages Palisadians to consider cutting out plastic cutlery. The community also met the Pali Ambassadors, who were featured on the cover.
Winter
Palisadians looking for the perfect gifts this holiday season had to look no further than the winter edition’s gift guide, which featured dozens of local offerings. 90272 Magazine also compiled a list of all things festive and fun to do throughout the holidays—from menorah lighting at Palisades Village to trotting on Thanksgiving Day. As far as features, designer Jenna Piantedosi, who operates J.DOSI in The Highlands, shared her traditions from Boston to the Palisades and Palisades Charter High School’s Nancy Fracchiolla explained some of the magic behind sketch comedy group Friday Night Live.
