With the pandemic still in full force, many vacations have been put on pause due to a blend of travel restrictions and COVID-19 fears.
Los Angeles locals are still recommended to stay at home whenever they can and to social distance when outside with others. For most, this has created a pent-up urgency to escape the quarantine for a quick weekend getaway with the family.
When planning a vacation during a pandemic, many travelers live in fear of possibly exposing their loved ones to COVID-19 during their travels, which limits the potential destinations for eager guests. Amazon presents a phenomenal solution to get your travel bug fix, with tiny home kits available for purchase.
The kits provide you with all of the materials you need to build a 150- to 300-square-foot house from the safety of your very own backyard. Think of it as your very own backyard Airbnb—without the added stress of traveling.
This not only offers a perfect solution for a getaway, but can also be used as an office space, yoga studio, home gym, craft area, garden shed, guest house or extra storage area, making investing in one well worth it. The kits have various styles and price points, ranging from $7,500 to $19,000 to best suit your needs.
Not only do these kits work as an extra room on your property, they also add value to your home by utilizing space effectively and efficiently. Who said you need to leave your home to go on vacation?
Some of my personal favorite tiny home kits on Amazon are made by Allwood, described on its site as a “family-owned business that sells eco-friendly products manufactured and imported from Scandinavia and the Baltic states.”
The kits include all of the structural parts you will need to build the home, and they can be completed by two adults in two to five days. Once built, you are free to use your new home as you desire, whether it be for overnight campouts with the family or your spacious new home gym.
Allwood’s most popular kits are named the Summerlight and the Palma 3, which differ in design, price and space.
The Summerlight looks just as good as it sounds, with a rustic cabin feel and large windows allowing tons of natural light to illuminate the space. Perfect for a mountain or lake home, the kit is priced at $7,000 and boasts 150 square feet of living space.
Next we have the Palma 3, a modern spin on the rustic cabin look, made entirely of Nordic wood with sliding glass door entrances. Laying at 176 square feet and priced at $9,695, you have the opportunity to build both a kitchen and bedroom. Perfect for those weekend getaways.
Amazon home kits could offer a creative solution to the travel bug for many families in the future.
