Palisades Cares is currently accepting school supplies for children living in shelters, motels, cars, group foster homes and on the streets in Southern California as part of its annual Backpack and School Supplies Drive.
“If you’re purchasing supplies for your children, you can have your children pick out items for other kids,” Palisades Cares Founder Marie Steckmest shared in a release about the drive.
New items can be dropped off in bins placed at Palisades-Malibu YMCA, Regal Cleaners and CVS.
Palisades Cares has partnered with School on Wheels, a Ventura-based nonprofit that provides academic tutoring to homeless children, to get the items to the children.
The deadline to contribute is August 25. For more information, contact Steckmest at info@palisadescares.org.
