Saint John’s Health Center will present a free community education program, the second annual Pink Ribbon Lectures: A Woman’s Health’Breast Health and Cancer, on Wednesday, October 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and again on Thursday, October 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Santa Monica Public Library auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd. To draw attention to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Saint John’s Health physicians will speak on related topics. Physicians Sean Fischer will speak on ‘Breast Cancer Prevention’ and Daniel Kirsch on ‘Finding Breast Cancer Early’Mammograms, Ultrasound and MRI.’ Surgeons Leslie Memsic and Maggie DiNome will address ‘Breast Conserving Surgery’ and Dr. Lisa Chaiken will speak on ‘Radiation Therapy for Breast Cancer.’ Additionally, surgeons Gregory Senofsky and Leslie Memsic will speak about ‘Mastectomy and Breast Reconstruction,’ and Dr. Cathie Chung will discuss ‘Current Medical Therapies for Breast Cancer.’ The program is presented in collaboration with the American Cancer Society and advance reservations are required.
