Twenty-eight Palisadian active and advocate members of the Angelic Auxiliary of Children’s Bureau are gearing up for the organization’s 16th annual Carnival at the Pier, which will take place on Sunday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier.
Children’s Bureau, a nonprofit dedicated to helping prevent child abuse and providing treatment, plans to host approximately 650 children and their families at the event.
“Investing in our children is perhaps the most important thing we can do,” Cecily “Ceci” Dean, who raised her two daughters in Marquez Knolls on Enchanted Way and currently serves on the Children’s Bureau board of trustees, told the Palisadian-Post. “Children’s Bureau’s commitment and passion to their mission of protecting vulnerable children in our community continues to inspire me to be a strong abuse prevention advocate and supporter of the great work they do to promote strong families and ensure that our children thrive.”
Admission includes private use of the park, unlimited amusement park rides, parking and game tickets. Treats will be provided by Fresh Brothers Pizza, Shake Shack and Sprinkles; drinks by Positive Beverage.
“The pier event is a wonderful family-fun-filled day to support the great work that Children’s Bureau does to build stronger families and make a difference in the lives of the children in our community,” Dean shared.
Unable to attend the event but still want to help the cause? For $100, anyone can sponsor a Children’s Bureau family so that they are able to go to the carnival.
