After a rollercoaster season that had plenty of ups and downs the Palisades High girls volleyball team got a “second chance” to win a championship after being seeded sixth in the CIF Southern California Regional Division 3 playoffs.
Having fallen to Eagle Rock in the City Section Open Division final, the Dolphins had one day to prepare for Vistamar, the Southern Section Division 5 runner-up. The visiting Vikings served tough, got the Dolphins out of system and won last Tuesday’s first rounder, 27-25, 25-11, 19-25, 27-25. It was Palisades’ first home loss since a five-set defeat to Carson last fall.
“They played better on the big points,” Pali High assistant coach Dave Suarez said. “We had lapses and let too many balls drop.”
