Despite playing with different partners in the City Section Open Division tennis finals, Palisades High freshman Jade Finestone and junior Sarah Slavkin joined forces for the City Individual doubles tournament and ended up with bronze medals.
The Dolphins’ duo breezed through the first three rounds, losing one game in six sets, before falling to eventual champions Melody Ponce and Kristina Nordikya of Grant in the semifinals.
Finestone and Slavkin rallied to beat El Camino Real’s Isabella Libman and Milana Root, 6-7 (5), 6-1,6-2, in the third-place match.Libman and Root had beaten Palisades’ Norah Morlot and Sydney Gartin in the quarterfinals
Pali High’s Kalea Martin and Iris Berman each advanced to the quarterfinals in singles.
