Pali High Hitter Akhil Tangutur Voted City Boys Volleyball Player of the Year

To anyone who watched Akhil Tangutur play this season, it was no surprise that he was named L.A. City Section Boys Volleyball Player of the Year after powering Palisades High to the Open Division championship this spring.

The junior outside hitter who led the Dolphins in kills and hitting percentage was joined on the first team by three teammates: sophomore setter Miles Partain, junior middle blocker Justin Howard and senior libero Jeff Stuart. Senior outside hitter Scott Stuart, Jeff’s brother, made the All-City second team. 

Carlos Gray was named City Coach of the Year after piloting the Dolphins to their third section title in four years and 15th overall.
