More than 45 people, including parents, children, neighbors and Palisades Charter High School students, spent a Saturday morning beautifying the Marquez Charter Elementary School campus. The team weeded, mulched, painted and planted. Volunteers planted two butterfly gardens, and children planted seeds in recycled containers to take home.

The Calvary Christian School eighth-grade class performed the musical “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.”

Alphabet Streets residents Robyn and Marc Sidoti were honored by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for their hard work toward finding a cure at the foundation’s annual Imagine Gala at the Beverly Hilton.

Over 300 supporters attended the Irene Dunne Guild from Saint John’s Health Center Foundation’s Think Pink Women’s Wellness Lunch at the Upper Bel Air Bay Club. The event, which focuses on health education and awareness for women and their families, featured morning break-out sessions with notable doctors and speakers, and culminated with a luncheon and key note speaker presentation. After hearing from Rock And Roll Rescue on ways kids can help animals and rescue groups, Marquez Charter Elementary School fifth-grader Lucie Brazier organized a bake sale fundraiser at Palisades Recreation Center.
