Four Dolphins Make All-City Girls Volleyball Team
After helping the Palisades High girls volleyball team reach the City Section finals, four Dolphins players have made the All-City Open Division team—three on the first team and one on the second team.
Representing Palisades on the 13-member first team are senior libero Annie Eckert, senior opposite hitter Caroline Kedeshian and sophomore setter Kaia Kanan. Co-Players of the Year are seniors Jade Fuentes and Wendy Jurenec of Eagle Rock, which defeated Palisades in four sets in the championship match to capture the City upper division title for the first time in program history.
Rounding out the Open Division first team are setter Nicole Lee and libero Julia Orqueza of Eagle Rock, outside hitter Brianna Botello and middle blocker Isabella Rautescu of Cleveland, outside hitter Kayla Ghossein of El Camino Real, setter/opposite hitter Nieko Thomas of Taft, outside hitter/libero Iliana Maia from Narbonne and outside hitter Imeleta Ale of Carson.
Tim Bergeron of Eagle Rock has been named Coach of the Year.
Making the second team from Palisades is junior middle blocker Alexa Hogan. She is joined by Anniston Smith (Eagle Rock), Moria Villanueva and Elizabeth Hernandez (Cleveland), Lia Berkholds, Carolyn Lindsay and Madison Kim (Granada Hills), Amaya Bernardo and Larissa Dakoske (El Camino Real), Amiree Hendricks-Walker and Chenelle Jones (Taft), Esheallah Bradley and Taquoia Rounds (Narbonne) and Chai Owens and Sydnee Rowe of Carson.
