Meals on Wheels West has 25 openings for men and women volunteers to deliver two nutritious meals a day, seven days a week, to homebound residents in Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Topanga Canyon, Marina del Rey and Venice who are unable to shop or cook for themselves. Clients receive a hot lunch and a bagged sack dinner that together provide two-thirds of daily nutritional requirements and that can be adjusted to meet any diet restrictions or food preferences. Every weekday, volunteers bring meals, the daily newspaper, fresh fruit and companionship to people who are homebound. They also provide frozen meals for the weekend.
