Kids in schools throughout the world spent five minutes doing yoga poses and celebrating fitness on Friday, April 8 for the First Annual Kids’ Yoga Day. Among the schools participating were Corpus Christi School, Palisades Presbyterian Preschool and St. Matthew’s Parish School in Pacific Palisades.
As of April 7, 23,000 kids from 46 states and 22 countries were set to participate in Kids’ Yoga Day at 11 a.m., led by more than 100 official ambassadors to raise global awareness about yoga for kids. The ambassadors led students and children through kid-friendly yoga positions, teaching the kids to mold themselves into trees, flamingos, windmills, kites and more.
Kids’ Yoga Day was envisioned by longtime Palisadian Teresa Anne Power, a bestselling author whose latest book “The ABCs of Yoga for Kids: A Guide for Parents and Teachers” was released on the same day.
