With deepest sorrow, our beloved son, husband, brother, nephew, cousin and loyal friend, Guy Phillips, 41, passed unexpectedly on Friday, November 8, 2019. He died from acute peritonitis, due to a bacterial infection.
Guy loved fiercely, gave selflessly and strived to make everyone happy. His big heart, big smile and unforgettable laughter made our world a better place.
Guy was born on October 1, 1978, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and raised in Pacific Palisades. He attended Corpus Christi School, Crespi Carmelite High School, Santa Monica High School and Santa Monica College.
Guy was vice president of a boutique investment firm in Santa Monica for seven years. He was a gifted athlete, an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. His passion for music and the beach were celebrated during the intimate memorial services held in Redondo Beach and Ft. Lauderdale.
Guy’s predeceased relatives are his grandparents, Daphne and Louis Padula, Edith Visca and Mona Phillips. We take comfort in knowing he’s wrapped in the protected arms of Yia Yia and Gramps, with many family members and his devoted dog, C.C., surrounding him in love until we are able to join him.
Guy is survived by his mother, Lisa Phillips Visca, father, Ron Phillips, step-father, Dennis Visca, step-mother, Lori Sterling and brothers: Taylor Visca, Hunter Phillips and Brendon Teetor, aunt, Cindi Smith, close friends, Arian Aguero and Evan Funke, and his wife of 12 years, Rheana McKim.
Guy’s family and friends miss him more than anyone thought possible. We’ll keep his memories alive and cherish every moment we spent with him.
Remembrances of Guy’s memory may be made to The First Tee, a youth development organization introducing golf to kids and teens, and the Sisters of St. Louis League, Los Angeles.
