Firefighters and helicopters will continue working today, Oct. 24, after extinguishing a blaze that blackened about two acres of brush in a remote area of Rustic Canyon near Murphy Ranch, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No injuries were reported and no structures have been threatened, LAFD spokeswoman Katherine Main told the Palisadian-Post.
An official knockdown of the overnight blaze occurred sometime this morning, and crews will remain on the scene for the next several hours to eliminate hot spots, Main said at about 9 a.m. this morning.
Firefighters will move in on foot and use the light of day to find any potential hot spots and helicopters have been called in to reach more remote areas of brush to do the same, Main said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, she added.
