After taking second place at the City Championships, the Palisades High golf team traveled to Pasadena for the CIF Southern California Regionals last Thursday and placed 10th with a score of +70 at Brookside Golf Club.
Junior Ali Zafar-Khan parred 11 holes and freshman Noah Mirza birdied the first and 16th holes as each carded a 9-over par 81. Jackson Nettleship birdied the fourth hole on his way to an 86, fellow 9th-grader Charlie Lovett shot an 88 and Aaron Simon birided the first hole on his way to an 84 to round out the Dolphins’ scoring. Sam Swartz carded a 95, but only the five lowest scores count towards the team total.
City champion Granada Hills finished ninth at +46 and Torrey Pines won at 9-over par.
Tyler Guo of Crean Lutheran was the top individual with a 7-under par 65, followed by Ontario Christian’s William Mouw (69) and Palm Desert’s Charlie Reiter (70).
