A junior on the University of Pennsylvania baseball team, Matt earned All-Ivy League First Team honors after batting .299, slugging .508 and starting all 42 games at third base for the Quakers. He hit a league-best 43 RBIs with 28 runs scored, 12 doubles, two triples amd a team-high seven home runs. The former PPBA and Loyola High star hit Penn’s first homer of the season at Northwestern State, recorded 13 multi-hit games and hit safely in 11 straight games in April, including a career-high five-RBI performance against Cornell.  Penn finished 16-25-1 overall and 9-11-1 in Ivy League play.To nominate your favorite Palisadian for Athlete of the Week, email
