After first being listed on the market more than half a year ago, Matt Damon’s Pacific Palisades home recently saw a $3.1 million price cut—bringing the for sale price from $21 million to $17.9 million.
The 13,508-square-foot Upper Riviera home where Damon resided with his wife, Luciana Barroso, features a game room, bar, office, “plush” media room, staff quarters, and wine storage plus tasting room.
“Seven bedrooms include the stunning primary suite boasting a private terrace, dual dressing rooms, massage room and a spa-style bath with soaking tub and expansive shower,” according to the listing. “Capturing leafy property and treetop views from nearly every room, this masterfully designed estate offers absolute privacy, serenity and resort-style living moments from world-class shopping, dining and entertainment in the Palisades Village, Brentwood, Santa Monica and The Riviera Country Club.”
The home is described as “ultra-private” and located on “one of Pacific Palisades’ premier streets.”
“This extraordinary contemporary retreat showcases masterful craftsmanship and exceptional amenities for entertaining and relaxation,” the listing stated. “Surrounded by lush landscaping, mature trees and flat, grassy yards, the .68-acre estate is among the most spacious homesites in the Upper Riviera neighborhood.”
With “Zen-inspired” architecture by Grant Kirkpatrick of KAA Design, the home is designed with a “vibrant mix” of materials, including warm woods and natural stone, all of which is immediately on display upon entering.
A great room includes living and dining areas that feature natural light through clerestory windows and Asahi glass walls, designed to fuse indoor and outdoor living. A family room leads to a chef’s kitchen, complete with mahogany cabinetry, Bluestone countertops, and stainless steel Viking, Wolf and Miele appliances.
The backyard features a children’s play area, pool, spa, cascading waterfall, koi pond and Hawaiian-inspired Lanai with a covered lounge and alfresco dining terrace.
The listing continues to be held by Eric Haskell with The Agency.
Damon and Barroso, who have been married since 2005, remain owners of a duplex condo in New York, acquired in 2018. The couple has been reported to be looking to relocate or share their time in Australia
The actor became widely known in 1997 when he and fellow Palisadian Ben Affleck wrote and co-starred in “Good Will Hunting,” taking home Academy and Golden Globe awards for Best Screenplay. He is also well known for his starring roles as Jason Bourne in the “Bourne.”
He was recently seen in “Stillwater,” a dramatic thriller directed by the Academy Award-winning Tom McCarthy.
