Rick Caruso has confirmed another tenant for Palisades Village: Sweet Laurel Bakery, which specializes in grain-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free baked goods, will be opening its first store next summer. Founded out of necessity by Laurel Gallucci after she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition and her friend, cook and food blogger Claire Thomas, the bakery specializes in custom-made layer cakes that have been featured in Vogue and Goop. They may also hold grain-free cooking classes on the premises. This follows the naming of the first restaurant in the project: Madeo, the famed Italian restaurant in West Hollywood, which for decades has attracted A-listers to its white tablecloth dining room. It will open with a custom concept, FdeiM by Madeo.
