GWENDOLEN TWIST
A member of The Jane’s Elite Racing, Gwen competed in the 2018 USATF National Club Cross Country Championships on a chilly Saturday in Spokane, Washington, and placed 18th in her age group (21st overall) to help her Santa Monica-based team capture the title in the 40s age division. The 43-year-old from the Alphabet Streets ran the tough 6K course at Plantes Ferry Sports Complex in 24:09. Gwen finished two spots and 12 seconds ahead of Janes teammate Tania Fischer, the top female in the sixth annual Palisades Funding Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving morning. An assistant coach for the Palisades High cross country and track teams, Gwen clocked a personal-best time of two hours, 54 minutes to win the female masters division and place fifth at the Phoenix Marathon in February after intense training under Coach Blue Benadum. Her twin boys attend Palisades Elementary. She was 11th overall in the Turkey Trot 5K last year and ninth this year. Gwen joined The Janes in April 2017.
