LUCAS BRAUN
A 6-foot junior right-handed relief pitcher on the Cal State Northridge baseball team, Lucas needed only seven pitches to retire all four batters he faced to close out a 14-6 victory over Pacific on Sunday at Matador Field. He has appeared in four of his team’s first seven games, recording four strikeouts in five innings. After posting a 0.85 ERA with 116 strikeouts and a mere 19 walks in 82.0 innings while captaining Palisades High to the City Open Division finals at Dodger Stadium as a senior in 2019, Lucas spent two seasons at the University of San Diego, striking out 28 batters in his 21.0 innings of work, before transferring to CSUN, which plays in the Big West Conference.
