Firefighters battled a large fire that broke out in a ground floor apartment on Tuesday afternoon, April 26, and rescued an elderly occupant with minor injuries.
The fire broke out about 2:30 p.m. and firefighters had it under control within 30 minutes. The cause is still under investigation, but it appeared to have broken out in the apartment living room, LAFD Captain Charles Boswell told the Palisadian-Post on the scene.
Station 69 and Station 23 both responded to the complex located on the 16500 block of Sunset Blvd., as well as LAFD Battalion 14 from Studio City.
The unidentified 70-year-old female was transported to an area hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation.
Boswell said the fire caused extensive damage to the first and second floors of the apartment building.
