On March 19, the founding class of the National Charity League, Inc., Westside Area Chapter presented 17 young ladies, including eight Palisadians, at their annual Senior Recognition Ball held at the Jonathan Club in LA.
“Congratulations to our 17 lovely debutantes. They are as beautiful as they are accomplished, and we couldn’t be prouder of them,” said the chapter ball’s co-chair and Palisades resident Sherrie Pastron, whose daughter Rosemary Hazel Pastron was among the girls being recognized.
Rosemary was presented with the Outstanding Senior Service Award for completing over 280 philanthrophy hours.
Sherrie expressed her utmost gratitude to her co-chair, Melinda Hornbaker, for her vision, hard work, dedication and creativity evident in every detail of the magical evening.
Additional Palisades seniors recognized at the ball included Grayson Summerfield Houge, Jacqueline Marie Vogel, Philippa Jane Thomas, Lindsay Jane Kornfeind, Emma Ulfvengren, Morgan Clare Swan and Natalie Janet Wiegand.
More than 200 guests from the Greater LA area gathered to celebrate the evening. USC Military Marines escorted the debutantes to their fathers for the promenade, which was followed by the traditional father-daughter waltz transitioning the party from presentation to celebration.
The after-party was held on the rooftop with dancing and desserts.
