Local artist Calliope Babu-Khan shared one of her latest works with the Palisadian-Post this week. The piece will feel particularly fitting for Palisadians who just sent their son or daughter off to university.
“I have made a painting showing fragments of Ancient Greek vases with a man going to college [partially visible at the bottom right],” Babu-Khan explained. “There is a woman figure representing good fortune who says in Ancient Greek, ‘always excel.’”
Her work extends well wishes for an exciting time in many young people’s lives—and an at-times trying, if proud, time in the life of their parents.
