Palisadian Ben Affleck is doing double duty by appearing in two films released in theaters over the next month.
Affleck will star in “The Way Back,” an inspirational American sports drama coming out in U.S. theaters March 6 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
“Affleck plays Jack Cunningham, a former high school basketball player” who takes on the job of high school coach at his former alma mater after “alcoholism cost him his marriage” and his life feels out of control, according to Entertainment Canada and IMDb.
At the heart of the movie is whether a team starting to win can help Cunningham find redemption.
Gavin O’Connor directed the film and it’s written by Brad Ingelsby. O’Connor previously teamed up with Affleck on “The Accountant.”
The cast features Al Madrigal, Michaela Watkins, Janina Gavankar and Glynn Turman.
Affleck will also star in “The Last Thing He Wanted”—a British-American political thriller.
The cast features Anne Hathaway, Willem Dafoe, Toby Jones and Rosie Perez.
“A veteran D.C. journalist loses the thread of her own narrative when a guilt-propelled errand for her father thrusts her from byline to unwitting subject in the very short story she’s trying to break,” according to IMDb.
The film is based on the book by the same name, written by Joan Didion. Dee Rees directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Marco Villalobos.
The film, distributed by Netflix, will be released in U.S. theaters on February 21.
