Youth Animal Rescue Initiative will host a cat and dog supply drive benefitting Pups Without Borders and Samson’s Sanctuary at several locations across Pacific Palisades beginning July 9.
“Acceptable goods include cleaning supplies, food, treats, beds, crates and more,” according to an Instagram post, as well as pee pads, poop bags, toys, calming chews, pill pockets, HEPA filters, disposable gloves and shoe covers, play pens, collars/leashes/harnesses, tick and heartworm prevention, and cat litter.
Supplies can be dropped off in front of Palisades Charter Elementary School (800 Via De La Paz) on Sunday, July 9, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., as well as at collection boxes at Paws ‘N Claws (16634 Marquez Avenue) and Collar & Leash (518 Palisades Drive), which will be available throughout the month of July.
YARI is a group of “passionate and confident young activists” between the ages of 10 and 18 with a mission of inspiring “teenagers to make a positive difference in their communities with hands-on experience in fundraising, outreach and leadership” through its work, which benefits California-based animal rescues.
“Through extensive education in what it means to be an activist, we aim to give our members the skills they need to make positive changes in their communities and the world,” according to the YARI website. “YARI members will learn fundraising, outreach and leadership techniques while actively supporting California animal rescues. Our goal is to make a positive impact on the communities we live in while educating the future activists of the world.”
