Pali Mayor
Did the term of Honorary Mayors Janice and Billy Crystal expire earlier this year? As it’s never been more important to have a clear chain of command in our community, we’d better do something about it. My strong preference would be for the Crystals to extend their term. Alternatively – and consistent with our leadership at the national level – we could appoint someone who thinks he knows better than the scientists: my neighbor who continues to permit his gardeners to use leaf blowers.
Green
I have been to the Caruso development Green twice in the last week. Few people are wearing masks. It’s not just people eating- those lounging on the grass or sitting in chairs are not wearing PPE. The only people I saw were the delivery people and the nannies. It is now a city and county ordinance for people to wear masks in public 100% of the time. Caruso management, please enforce this rule designed to protect all of us.
Gratitude
1. Thank you to The Yogurt Shoppe for serving the community in a safe and responsible manner in these COVID times.
2. To the mixed (Trojan and Bruin) family that bought me yogurt last Friday night when The Yogurt Shoppe would only take credit cards after the cash box was closed, thank you so much for your gracious and simple act of kindness. It is much appreciated and an example of why I live in the Palisades. Stay safe and be well.
Palisades Garden Café
I would like to give a shoutout to the Garden Cafe: they are doing a great job! I walked over there the other day and everything’s running so smoothly with the curbside pickup.
Masks
I live here in PP and this is a very small sampling of what’s going on in Temescal Park today. I very politely said to some of the dozens of violators, “You need to wear a mask here. There are lots of signs all around.” What is wrong with people? I’m sure this behavior is going on all over the city and county. I’m very upset about the lack of adherence to the provisions set forth by the mayor and governor during this first phase of reopening California.
Masks II
Let’s not forget masks are required when we leave our homes, and let’s do everything in our power to flatten the curve.
Shops
I’m so excited to see some of my favorite shops and restaurants ease back into reopening (safely might I add), let’s support our local businesses!
Trails
It is so wonderful to have our nearby hikes open again. Please, everyone help with the social distancing and keep it that way.
