New Electoral Districts
The recent letter to the editor regarding redistricting is well intended, but given the recent LA Times headline that despite the majority of Californians believing the state is headed in the wrong direction, Newsom will be reelected handily, I’d say it will take the state falling to the bottom of the abyss before there’s any hope from what is a fully indoctrinated electorate!
Response to ‘Fake Grass’
Please do not use artificial grass. It’s plastic. So much of our city is already covered in asphalt and concrete, let’s not add plastic to the mix. Plants cool the earth, plastic heats it up. There are many low irrigation and drought tolerant choices. We need as much natural space as possible for insects to live, so birds can feed, etc. I can’t remember the last time I saw a ‘rolly-polly’ or a lady bug I didn’t buy from Anawalt.
Dogs
We know you like to take your dog with you but it doesn’t belong at the Farmers’ Market. Please leave your dog at home and respect the law and health of others. The new signs are clear.
Kayndaves I
I, like so many fellow diners, am saddened by the closure of Kayndaves. They had many good items on their menu but one of my favorite salads in town was their lime cilantro chicken salad. I will miss it greatly!

Happy 40 year anniversary to Gerry Blanck. What a nice celebration for a person who has such deep roots in the community.
Fire Safety
Do we have any local fire safety or preparedness workshops throughout the year? I can’t help but feel unprepared in case we are threatened with one and I want to be better informed.
