Zibby Owens
Steve Galluzzo’s latest piece on Zibby Owens was such a great read and I can’t say it enough: I love the profiles the Pali-Post does on the many, many interesting locals who reside in the Palisades. Just when I think you’ve covered them all, another riveting story pops up.
Zibby Owens II
Maybe my 2023 reading list will be the books Zibby recommends in her book. My interest has been piqued.
Pacific Palisades
Despite the changes Pacific Palisades has undergone it’s great to think that it’s managed to keep its small town feel and its tight knit community. I’ve been here only two years but everybody knows EVERYBODY. And I actually really enjoy that. It’s very special.
Pali Rec Park
Some shade installation near the playground at Pali Rec would be fantastic. The Palisades doesn’t get too hot, but the sun beats down HARD. It would give us parents somewhere to wait comfortably and somewhere for kids to take a break after playing in the sun. Who can I reach out to about this?
(Editor’s note: The Post reported in July 28 that Palisades Forestry Committee will be planting additional trees at the rec center. Additional public comments may be sent to Board of Recreation and Park Commissioners via email: rap.commissioners@lacity.org.)
Fake Grass
With us all facing an extreme drought, can Resilient Palisades confirm or deny in a future Green Tip if fake grass is helpful in reducing water usage? I would imagine so because you don’t have to water it, but are there any other environmental drawbacks?
Green Tip
My environmentally friendly cleaning solution is equal parts water + vinegar, then covering with baking soda, to clean up and eliminate pet odor. It was a game-changer when I was training my puppy!
Crayon Collection
I love reading about the work Crayon Collection does. Such a unique idea – and something I would have never thought of. I love it.
