Aldersgate I
So here I go.. sounding like a curmudgeon. But sometimes you just have to speak out. Just read that Seven Arrows is buying Aldersgate. Another school expansion, but this time into a residential neighborhood. How much of this Village can we dedicate to young people? What about the adults, the older folks. The Village is ideal walking space to markets, doctors, etc. It’s now crowded with teens from 2pm on. Cars clog Via and La Cruz as parents pick up. Children’s enjoyment assaults the ears of passerby on Swarthmore. This is not intended to be a negative against children. It’s a plea to say: Enough is Enough! As you warm to the idea of neighborhood schools, please consider the lives of others.
Aldersgate II
Curious how Seven Arrows will handle the traffic on Haverford, especially with theatre back at Pierson Playhouse? It’s impossible to pass through there as it is, and that is a useful street to many of the locals.
The Hydration Room
Although I would prefer something along the lines of a Coffee Bean, The Hydration Room sounds like an okay addition to the Village area.
Schools
I hope students back in school are staying safe and wearing their masks. Parents please remind them to err on the side of caution, the pandemic still isn’t over.
Voting
The Pali Rec center is open now for voting, be sure to get your votes in.
Cats
There have been tons of posts on Nextdoor about missing cats lately, I recommend everybody get their furry one a tag with your name and phone number on it. Whenever my cat has managed to escape, a nice neighbor has been able to return her safely by ringing my cell.
Football
Woo-hoo Dolphins! Another great week for Pali football.
Thomas Mann
I loved reading about fellows and events returning to the Thomas Mann House. A good sign of good things to come!
