
William “Bill” Seligmann passed away in his adopted home of Escazu, Costa Rica on Oct. 6 of this year at the age of 88. Bill was a longtime resident of Pacific Palisades and a former board member of the Palisades YMCA.
Bill grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his sister Claire. During WWII, he served as a navigator in the Army Air Corps and continued to serve after the war in the Reserves, ultimately obtaining the rank of Captain.

Bill graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he met and married his first wife Joyce, to whom he remained married for 55 years until her death. He moved to California in 1961, where he worked as a trust officer for Union Bank for many years before deciding to get his law degree from the University of San Diego. Upon graduation from law school, he established a prominent practice in Los Angeles emphasizing tax and estate planning.
Bill was an avid swimmer, sailor and aviator who was known to all for his sense of adventure. He was also a dedicated family man, who is survived by his second wife Joan; children Bill and Michal Sue; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; as well as his sister Claire.
