My name is Anna Entin. I am in 4th grade at Village School. My 4th-grade class spent a lot of time learning to form a paragraph and to put a lot of detail in our writing. On Wednesday, June 8, my class visited the Palisadian-Post to learn more about writing and how the newspaper works. We met the photographer, the sports writer, the person who places the stories in the newspaper and a few other writers, too.

We learned a lot about the newspaper system. Some of the cool facts are that they print about 5,500 copies of the newspaper each week; some are sent to homes, some are placed in boxes around town so people can buy them and some are kept at the office to show people like me and my class. One helpful tip to writing in a newspaper is that it is always good to put an interesting photo to go with your story. This makes the person reading the newspaper want to read the story. Another tip is to remember to write about who, what, were, why, when, which is also known as the five Ws. I loved the trip to the Palisadian-Post, and I am glad to have learned so much about the newspaper.
