Those who have taken a photo of Palisades Village Green—located in the heart of the Village—now have a chance to be recognized for their work.
As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, Village Green is hosting a photo contest, which will be judged by professional photographer and Palisades Charter High School teacher Rick Steil.
“Do you have the cutest pet photo? Do you have goofy photos of your friends on the Green?” asked a press release sent by event organizers. “Are you an artist with photos of the trees, fountain or landscape? Make a submission and find out if you are one of the finalists to receive wide-spread admiration and respect for capturing the spirit of the Village Green via photography.”
Palisades Village Green, which is a privately owned park, is located at 15280 Sunset Boulevard, between Swarthmore and Antioch. Its mission is to “maintain in the heart of the community an attractive, comfortable space in which people can meet others, have a snack or simply sit in the shade to read or relax.”
The anniversary celebration, which includes a lineup of speakers, music and more, is slated to take place on Sunday, August 27, between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
“Winning photos will be displayed during the party,” according to the press release, “and certificates for best photos in assorted categories will be awarded.”
Submissions can be sent to info@palisadesvillagegreen.org. Participants are asked to include their name, age (if a student) and contact information.
