The family-oriented Village Fair, sponsored by the Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce, will return to the quad at Palisades High School on Sunday, October 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This 14th annual community event had a successful debut at PaliHi last year and will again offer a safe, open-air setting for entertainment, games and an expansive food court. Admission is free and all ages are invited.   Game booths will include balloon darts (sponsored by the Village General Store), baseball bean-bag toss (Marc Michel Eyewear Studio), basketball hoop shoot (Taco Bell) and bowling (Mega Colossal Slide), plus balloon sculpture by Jean K (Jody Fine of Prudential California Realty) and the rock-wall climb (American Legion Post 283).   The petting zoo, race track, sandy seaweed crawl, spin-art and sunshine express train are all sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.   Girls from Fancy Feet Dance Studio, under the direction of PaliHi grad Emily Kay, will perform every 45 minutes on the Village Fair stage.   Do you like to bake pies? This year’s pie-judging contest (sponsored by Schneider Publishing and Movies in the Park Palisades, Inc.) features pecan. Six contestants have already signed up with Marilyn Crawford at the Chamber office (15330 Antioch St.) and the deadline for doing so is Friday at 5 p.m.   The second annual pie-eating contest will have all participants trying to take the title away from Dr. Shannon Watson (Vital Force Chiropractic), last year’s gluttonous winner, who has been training hard.   Perhaps you prefer chili? The men from Fire Station 69 (sponsored by Boca and Boca Man) will be cooking up their prize-winning chili for the Chamber to sell.   Information booths will feature Aldersgate Retreat Center, Arete Prepatory Academy, the eCenter, Function Drinks, Helen’s Cycles, Kehillat Israel, Oasis Palisades, Pacsun Chiropractic, 93.1 JACK FM, Riverway Ranch Camp, Rotary Club of Pacific Palisades, Scarlett’s Cupcakes, Maria Elena Tapia, D.D.S., UCLA Health System, and Vital Force Chiropractic.   Also, the Palisades Charter Schools Foundation will host a Big Draw LA booth, encouraging families K-12 (and beyond) to draw together. Big Draw LA started last October as a citywide celebration of drawing that creates opportunities for people of all ages to discover how drawing can enhance what they see, think and invent. Big Draw is held in conjunction with Ryman Arts, an arts education program that fosters the education of gifted young artists in Southern California. ‘   The Village Fair organizing committee is co-chaired by Zara Guivi (Oppenheimer & Company) and Ramis Sadrieh (Technology for You!).
