German writer Christiane Neudecker will read from her prize-winning short story ‘And Then: This Sound’ on January 28 at 8 p.m. at Villa Aurora in Pacific Palisades. The reading will be in English and admission is free. A Villa Aurora fellow, Neudecker, 36, is’a trained theater director (the Ernst’Busch Drama School in Berlin) and has staged numerous international productions with phase7 performing arts. Her previously published literary works include two collections of short stories, ‘A Sound in the Silence’ (2005) and ‘The Siamese Piano’ (2010), and the novel ‘Nowhere Else’ (2008). She has received various national literary awards and grants and is based in Berlin.
