The second annual Venice Family Clinic Surf and Skate Auction will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, April 27 at Track 16 at Bergamot Station.’The event will feature celebrity hosts, over 60 one-of-a-kind skate decks and eight custom shaped surfboards from local artists, musicians, athletes and’tattoo artists. At last year’s sold-out event, skate platforms and surfboards designed by more than 50 artists were bought by silent auction while patrons enjoyed a great selection of food along with live entertainment. The packed Track 16 Gallery was buzzing as the surf and skate crowd, attracted by the whimsically-designed boards, meshed with traditional supporters of the Venice Family Clinic’s Art Walk.’ The Surf and Skate Auction is one of several events that highlight the buildup to the clinic’s legendary Venice Art Walk on May 20. This year, the Art Walk will be hosted by Google in its new offices in Frank Gehry’s famous ‘Binoculars Building’ on Main Street. The Venice Family Clinic raises money through these events to provide much needed care’for over 25,000 children and adults.
