US Bank Robbery Scare a False Alarm

LAPD officers responded to a possible bank robbery at the US Bank on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Swarthmore Ave. at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31.
With guns drawn and a support helicopter circling overhead, LAPD officers cleared the building and within 15 minutes stated it was a false alarm.

The incident drew interest from several residents who had gathered across the street to watch as the six LAPD officers hustled to the bank.
When asked about the strong response by LAPD, Officer Hana, one of six responding officers, said, “We go 110 percent to make sure all communities are safe.”
Two days later on Thursday, April 2, a repair person was seen fixing the US Bank door, which had failed to lock properly, resulting in the false alarm.
