Tiger Woods announced last week that he plans to play in this year’s Genesis Open at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades.
That tournament, scheduled Feb. 12-18, and the Farmers Insurance Open at the end of January would mark Woods’ first return to action since a fourth back surgery sidelined the 14-time major winner in April of last year.
It would be Woods’, whose foundation hosts the Genesis Open, first tournament at Riviera since 2006 if he participates as planned.
“I’m very excited to be back at Riviera,” said the golfer, who had to cancel his 2017 appearance in the Open due to back spasms.
