Palisades High students stage the musical ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,’ 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday night in Mercer Hall, and a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Tickets at the door are $10-$15.
Theatre Palisades presents the Stephen Sondheim comic musical ‘A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,’ 8 p.m., at Pierson Playhouse, 941 Temescal Canyon Rd., through July 10. Moonday, a monthly Westside poetry reading, features Florence Weinberger and Jacqueline Tchakalian, 7:30 p.m. at Village Books on Swarthmore. Future events will continue at a home in Pacific Palisades.

A discussion of Amy Tan’s ‘The Joy Luck Club’ is part of L.A.’s Big Read program, 4 p.m. at the Palisades Branch Library, 861 Alma Real. The library has copies ready to check out for those who wish to participate.
