Fifteen-year-old Huntington resident Audrey Kaller will join more than 5,000 participants at the Rose Bowl for the Epilepsy Foundation of LA’s 5K Walk/Run on Nov. 16. Her goal is to raise $75,000 to help fund research into causes and treatments.
Kaller, a Junior Ambassador for Children’s Hospital, was diagnosed with epilepsy in her early teens. After more than a year of struggles to understand and control her seizures, Kaller began traveling to the nation’s capital to demand better funding for epilepsy research.

Last year, Kaller raised $50,000 for the cause. This donation came after she raised $35,000 in 2012.
Kaller’s 13-year-old sister, Ella Kaller, has taken on this fundraising effort as her Bat Mitzvah project, appealing to family, friends and community members to consider joining her.
“I have watched Audrey transform from a scared little girl into a beautiful and pro-active young woman handling adversity with grace and strength,” Dana Kaller, Audrey’s mother told the Post. “My daughter has epilepsy, but epilepsy does not have her.”
Donations can be made to Team Audrey Kaller at end-epilepsy.org.
