What a year it’s been for retired pro basketball player Steve Kerr.
In November he was the guest speaker at the Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce General Membership Breakfast. On May 14 he was hired as head coach of the Golden State Warriors. In two weeks, he’ll be back in his hometown as Grand Marshal for the 4th of July Parade.

“The parade committee is honored to have Steve Kerr leading this year’s parade,” Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Arnie Wishnick said.
“Steve’s a local kid who made good. Can you go home again? Absolutely!”
After graduating from Palisades High in 1983, Kerr played for Lute Olson at the University of Arizona and was a member of five championship teams in his 15-year NBA career (winning three titles with the Chicago Bulls and two with the San Antonio Spurs). After retiring in 2003 he became an analyst for TNT and later spent three years as general manager of the Phoenix Suns before returning to broadcasting in 2010.
