If last Wednesday’s West Valley League Finals was the dress rehearsal for yesterday’s City Golf Championships, then Palisades High freshman Anna Song showed she was ready for her closeup.
Song, who came to Palisades from Paul Revere Middle School, fired a 5-under par 68 to capture medalist honors at Balboa Golf Course and lead the Dolphins to a four-stroke victory (395-399) over reigning City champion Granada Hills.
Palisades not only avenged its one-stroke loss to the Highlanders in September, but also showed it has the depth needed to win City. Song carded three birdies on the front nine at League Finals. Rounding out the Dolphins’ lineup (only the five best rounds count towards the team score) are last year’s individual runner-up Chloe Rahn, Mandana Sahmedini, captain Jammy Cho, Maya Otero, Katie Kim, Sierra Sugarman, Sofia Canter and Dylan Nuss.
