There was no stopping snowboarder Jonny Weiss last week at Copper Mountain Ski Resort in Colorado.
The lifelong Palisadian, who celebrated his 12th birthday on Tuesday, thrilled a large crowd of spectators at the USASA Nationals, winning the gold medal in the slalom and taking the silver medal in the giant slalom in the 10-12 age group.

Showing no fear on the slippery slopes, Weiss medaled twice in two days, placed 18th in bordercross and finished sixth overall after qualifying in all five freestyle events (slalom , giant slalom, halfpipe, boardercross and slopestyle).
