Scott Vincent Johnson, a longtime resident of Pacific Palisades, passed away at home on October 17 after a long battle with cancer. He was 53. The son of Everett and Gloria Johnson, Scott grew up on Friends Street and graduated from Palisades High in 1978. A consummate athlete, he turned his childhood love of motorcycles into a career as a professional motocross racer here and in Europe. After retiring from professional racing, Scott followed the career path of his father (founder of Johnson & Sons Trees) and became a certified arborist, eventually starting his own company, Bay Cities Tree Preservation. Scott married Tracy, a personal trainer and longtime Palisades resident, in 2002, and their son, Ryan, was born in 2003. He is also survived by his sister Michelle and his brothers Mike, Chris and Brad. A service to celebrate Scott’s life will be held on Friday, November 2, at 12:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church, corner of Sunset and Carey. The Post will publish a full obituary on November 1.”
