The 22nd annual Santa Monica Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 at Clover Park, 2600 Ocean Park Blvd. The festival is free, and open to everyone.
Experience an eclectic mix of live music and dance, do-it-yourself art workshops with recycled and repurposed materials, guilt-free shopping featuring earth-friendly artistic wares and local services offered by City, environmental and local nonprofit organizations. The festival is a celebration with a purpose, highlighting the dynamic connection between the City’s communities, businesses, art, culture and the environment while offering ideas and options for a greener, healthier and more sustainable lifestyle.
Entertainment includes performances from Boogaloo Assassins, The Lions, Contra-Tiempo and Jessica Fichot. There will be cooking demonstrations by local chefs, free fitness classes (including Zumba and self-defense) and a free bike valet.
The festival strives to be a zero-waste event in order to reduce its impact on the environment and community, and uses alternative energy and carbon offsetting. Zero Waste Stations are set up throughout the park to minimize trash going to the landfill and maximize recycling and composting. All utensils are either compostable or recyclable.
