First-year boys coach Shane Vorster was pleased with his team’s victory. ‘They played really suburb,’ said Vorster, who came to the United States from South Africa in 1994 and is a mid-fielder for an amateur soccer team, the Playa Rovers. ‘Jose Trejo scored the first goal from 30 yards out,’ Vorster said. ‘He gave it a boot and it went in.’ Seventh-grader Jonathan Galvez scored the remaining two goals. Ashley Conte was the sole scorer for the Revere girls, who are coached by Edi Mujic, a former German semi-pro soccer player, who also coached at that level before moving to the United States in 1985. ‘I’m happy with the team. We had more pole position, but were not lucky finishing,’ said Mujic, who also works as a personal trainer and is involved with martial arts. ‘Some of the girls that I coached last year’Mackenzie Grey, Evelina Van Norden and Elizabeth Seeley’play for the JV team at Palisades [High School.’ ‘ Paul Revere, although not in a league, also plays Crossroads, Brentwood, New Roads and Culver City in upcoming weeks.
