Ralph James Yarro Jr.

On June 25, 2015, our hearts were broken when our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and husband Ralph James Yarro Jr. passed on. We are comforted to know that he was welcomed by countless loved ones in heaven.

Words cannot begin to describe what a wonderful man our father was. He was larger than life. A man like no other. Aside from being successful in his professional life, his personal and family life reigned above all. He was an attentive husband whose love for his wife, Linda, was easily recognized by anyone who knew them. They were each other’s best friends and confidants.

A gracious entertainer, a superb artist, a competitive sportsman, a master thespian, the consummate gentleman, a comedian who could make anyone laugh and smile no matter the circumstance–and a grandfather and friend to all.

He created magic in the purest sense. He was a professor of greatness…the impact he made on those fortunate enough to be in his world can only be measured by the great love we all have for him. We are mourning the loss of a king! A king of hearts.

Grandpa Ralph was a huge pushover. He would do anything for his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and never missed an event in which they performed or participated. He loved parties and always dressed for the occasion. Once he even dressed up as a mermaid for a granddaughter who loved The Little Mermaid. The cheers and laughter he could produce lifted all of our spirits.

He played football and boxed for BYU, and won the heavyweight championship in 1959. He was married to his beautiful wife Linda Lachman on July 19th, 1961. They have been happily married for 54 years. He traveled the world, had adventure upon adventure, and found value in everything.

He is survived by his wife Linda; his four children Tracy, Ralph, Matthew and Justin; his 13 grandchildren Kayley, Clark, Tanner, Ryley, Sydney, JJ, Chloe, Nick, Noah, Canaan, Isabelle, Connor and Amelia; his great grandson Ocean; and his daughter Heidi.

Our tears are huge and our hearts are heavy–lightened only by our memories of him.We will forever honor and love him by doing our best to live up to the great example he is. Live and love as big as you can…that is what Ralph would do.
